The team working with Simon to lead and serve St Chad's

Archdeacon John Day

I combine my role in the parishes of St Chad's, St Clement's and St Andrew's Bishopthorpe with a temporary secondment as Acting Archdeacon of York.
I’m committed to our churches following Jesus Christ's two greats:
the great commandment to love and
the great commission to make disciples.
I’m married to Stephanie. She teaches at St
Mellitus College where women and men are trained as Anglican clergy. We have four married children and six grandchildren.
I grew up in Scarborough and have lived in London, Durham, Bradford, Leeds and Liverpool. We also lived in Christchurch, NZ for almost 14 years.
I love the theatre, camping and have supported West Brom for over 55 years!
