Ven. John Day.

I’m the vicar of St Chad's and St Clement's. I combine this with being the Archbishop of Yorks Adviser in Mission Strategy.

I’m committed to our churches following Jesus Christs two greats:

the great commandment to love and

the great commission to make disciples.

I’m married to Stephanie. She teaches at St

Mellitus College where women and men are trained as Anglican clergy. We have four married children and six  grandchildren.

I grew up in Scarborough and have lived around the UK and Christchurch, NZ.

I love the theatre, camping and have supported West Brom for over 50 years!

Nick Nightingale

Church Warden

My jobs range from checking the heating systems, to helping everyone understand the new

Hall kitchen dish washer , to keeping in close touch with our three clergy and many

volunteers. A bit like a caretaker of a block of  flats, you will find me prowling about clearing

litter and checking that the Church and Hall diaries are up to date. I attend most services at

the weekend and am a point of contact for choirs and orchestras hoping to perform in

Church and enjoy its great acoustic.

Anne Bush

Assistant Church Warden

I’ve lived in York for over 40 years and am retired. My interests lie in the arts and I enjoy crafts. I am

a Deputy Churchwarden at St Chads and help with the Tuesday knitting and craft group and our

Wednesday Cafe. I’m also a server.

David Butler

Assistant Church Warden

I’m the assistant church warden with particular emphasis on nuts and bolts, bricks

and pipes! I also play my Euphonium in the 4.15 service band.

Carolyn Jaques

Assistant Church Warden

I have been a member of St Chad’s family for almost 20 years, and am a Deputy Church

Warden. I am part of the flower arranging team and a member of the singing group who

contribute to the services from time to time. I am also one of the leaders of the Tuesday Knit

and Natter group.

Mike Felton
